A Candlelight Contemplative Gathering

December 1, 2019 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

|Recurring Event (See all)

An event every week that begins at 6:30 pm on Sunday, repeating until December 23, 2019

“Like those who witnessed the first coming of Christ, we are beckoned during Advent to make ourselves available to God in new and courageous ways. We are invited to practice a unique kind of hospitality with one another: the sort of hospitality that makes room for people to share the strange ways in which God is moving in their lives; the sort of hospitality that encourages people to put down wearisome baggage and trust God to fill their empty hands and hearts; the sort of hospitality that nurtures space for holy listening. This hospitality encourages others to believe that God is always in the business of making things new, bringing life into spaces that feel barren, and strengthening the weak to receive and offer the gifts of God.” Enuma Okoro

Join us as we reflect each week on silence and other surprising invitations of Advent, inspired by the writing of Enuma Okoro.

Advent is a Christian tradition, but all are welcome, from all spiritual paths, for this time of seasonal music, contemplative readings, and prayerful meditation.

Led by Journey Center Spiritual Directors and gifted musicians and vocalists from our community. Free admission.
