Book Study: Altogether You: Experiencing Personal and Spiritual Transformation with Internal Family Systems Therapy

Meeting monthly for 4 months we will enjoy and discuss Jenna Riemersma’s book Altogether You: Experiencing Personal and Spiritual Transformation with Internal Family Systems Therapy
We will gather online through Zoom on the 2nd Sunday of the month at 4:00pm PST
September 10 – Chapters 1-3
Oct 8 – Chapters 4-6
November 12 – Chapters 7-9
December 10 – Chapters – 10-15
“Therapist and speaker Jenna Riemersma applies the groundbreaking insights of Internal Family Systems (IFS) for anyone who feels stuck in unwanted feelings and behaviors, with a special focus on personal transformation for listeners of faith. In Altogether You, she explains why our parts are so often at war-parts of us wanting to please others and do things right while other parts seem bent on acting out, shutting down, or engaging in hurtful behaviors. Jenna explores the surprising IFS insight that our warring parts are actually trying to help us, even when what they’re doing or feeling is not helpful. By genuinely welcoming all our parts and learning how to access our God-created core self, we can finally experience the change, integration, and wholeness we’ve been looking for.”

From Mindy – Journey Center Santa Rosa has hosted two series introducing Internal Family Systems now. It has been such a powerful healing modality for me personally and there has been such positive feedback from participants. The language of IFS is compatible with spiritual direction because when you practice IFS or hold space for someone to intereact with their parts, it is very similar to spiritual direction. I started with the book No Bad Parts by Richard Schwartz (highly recommend) and appreciated how Jenna Reimersma brought in language from the Christian tradition. I am excited to add the language of Internal Family Systems to our language of the Enneagram here at Journey Center Santa Rosa. They compliment each other very well. I hope you can join us!
